Hello, great forum see similar problems as mine hope you can help us as well.
No sound corrupt on board driver.
I am having a very similar problem, with HP Pavilion a1540n.
However, I am still unable to get the Multimedia Audio Controller and the driver for Video Controller. The information from running the Belarc Advisor produces the following:
HP Pavilion 061 EX276AA-ABAa1540n 0nx1114RE101NODUM00
Has a ASUSTeek Computer inc. NODUSM 1.03 mother board
200 Megahertz
Bios: Phoenix Tech
2.20 Gig AMD Athlon 64 X2 DualCore
Any ideas as to how I can search for the driver for my mother board audio controller?
Thank you in advance
Pierre

Yep,
Went in there as well as Assus site, couldnot figure a thing out there....HP provides downloads for verything. Would the on boards sound driver be included in the chipset when HP says download chipset. Just do not want to fry this thing.
Thanks in advance.

OK, you want to download all of the drivers marked summer 2006 for a start.
You then install the Summer 2006 Original NVIDIA Chipset Drivers and reboot
Now install the Summer 2006 Original Realtek High Definition Audio Drivers - these are the sound drivers.

Did you follow the instructions at HP?
Installation Instructions
1. Download the driver package.
2. Double-click on the icon for the driver package downloaded in Step 1, and then click NEXT.
3. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click NEXT.
4. Click OK to continue. The original drivers are now stored in the C:\SoftPaq\sp26741 folder.
5. If Device Manager does not start automatically, use the following steps. Otherwise go to step 6:
a. Click Start.
b. Right-click My Computer, and then select Properties.
c. Click the Hardware tab, and then click the Device Manager button.
6. Click the + (plus) sign next to "System devices" or "Other devices".
7. Right-click "SM Bus Controller" or the device you want to update, and then select "Update Driver...".
8. Select "No, not this time", and then click NEXT.
9. Click NEXT to install the software automatically
10. Click FINISH to complete the installation.

Hello NooNoo,
Thank you for all of your help. It was the uaa hd audio bus driver from Microsoft that I had downloaded but did no install properly and therefore was of no use. I had my brother in law who works in the field download the driver and properly install it. Speakers are working fine now.
Thank you again for your help.
