port forwarding
I got a linksys BEFsx41 router.
I set it up for port forwarding.
ports 80, 9091 to forward to static ip addres 192.168.1.10
I know my wan IP
how do I acces from outside?
do I just type the wan Ip, how do i protect it?

You would just go to a machine that is off of your connection, then open internet explorer, then type your WAN ip...
And what os are u running, if windows, and IIS, execute URLScan

For anyone confus-ed by the terms, brief explanation found here - Explaining DMZ’s and Port Forwarding
Of course the port is still open whether its one of 65,000 (how ever many it is 'exactly'!) & if you are really worried you want something looking at that port like a software firewall, which can limit what applications internally can receive & send on that port.
To hit a specific port its generally something like 192.168.1.10:9091 from 'wherever' (80 is 'mostly' nearly always default, so no need to type 192.168.1.10:80)
