rural modem connections
Living in a rural area one has to contend with 24600 modem connections. I was wondering if there would be any advantage to a 56k modem over my stable 33.6, and if so which ones. 56k Winmodems get continual disconnects.

I live in a rural area also and have the same problem. The only noticable difference between the 33.6 and the 56k I found was when I switched to a USR 56k Courier , it gives me consistent 28800 connections instead of the occasional 28800 , and the transfer rates are consistently higher .I've tried probably 20 different modems and this is the best I've found .
