    upgrading motherboard

    Hi,

I've got a P4 2.2ghz computer which uses RD RAM.
I'd like to add more ram than I've got now, however the price on RD ram is huge compared to other ram types. Therefore I want to upgrade the motherboard. Can I use the same cpu? Or do I need to buy a new one also?

    Thank you

Your cpu should work fine with a new motherboard, be sure though to check first what kind of ram your new motherboard supports DDR 266/333/400 before buying new ram. Also check with the shop ur buying the mb from if it supports your cpu, they should know easily

It depends, is the CPU socket 423 or socket 478? Most socket 423 boards used RD memory, not to say all so there is a chance that you can find a non RD board that will support 423, but if you have a 478 there will be no problem at all finding parts
