Word XP error under Windows XP!!!!!

Each time I'm closing Word XP, under Windows XP, it produces an strange and persistent error: "Microsoft Word has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I also enclose the message in my Event Viewer:
"Faulting application winword.exe, version 10.0.2627.0, faulting module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x001e5e79." The fault address differs each time.... I am desperate! Plese help! I have uninstalled Office, erased the folder Microsoft Office, reinstalled it but no result!
