    Question problem - creative sb pci128 (ensoniq es1371) and windows xp

    sound card - creative sb pci128 (ensoniq es1371)
    os - microsoft xp
    current driver - sbpci _webdrvsv5_12_01 (version 5.12.1.5017)
    device manager lists card as sb pci(wdm)

    ever since I installed Microsoft Windows XP I have no sound. I have tried all day to fix this and am losing my mind trying to figure this out! Please help me. I have uninstalled the driver, downloaded driver from creative, but still no sound. Please Help!

    Welcome to windrivers carmendola11. If you have the pci128 based on the es1371 chip, then you have installed the wrong driver. According to creative:
    There are no driver updates for PCI 128 (CT4700) and PCI 64 cards based on the ES1370, ES1371 and ES1373 Chipsets for Windows Me/2000/XP - you must use the drivers built into these operating systems.
    Uninstall the creative drivers, delete all instances of the card in device manager, and let windows redetect the card.
    Probability factor of one to one...we have normality, I repeat we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.
