USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE & XP SP1A problems
I have a USB2.0 200gb external HD installed on my system that i've been having problems with. the external hardrive is one i put together manually and the PC is a dell dimension 2300 P4 1.8GHz anyhelp please...i've actually been dealing with this problem for a while...at one point it actually worked at usb 2.0 speeds...but i guess through all the windows updates...something went wrong...so i decided to start from scratch w/ a fresh copy of XP PRO, it worked as usb1.0 but when i did the updates SP1A it doesn't work at all and in hardware manager there is a yellow exclamation mark on USB Mass Storage Device. Any help would be greatly appreciated

What is the error code associated with the yellow "!"? Also, have you installed the intel chipset software ftp://aiedownload.intel.com/df-suppo...nfinst_enu.exe ?
Probability factor of one to one...we have normality, I repeat we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.

if you think you have tried everything, try again only this time do things as suggested here
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
