    IE Search bar

    i'm trying to remove a search bar in Internet explorer on a Windows XP Pro box, the search bar says it is called "This Mapi Axis" i've tried to google and haven't found anything. there isn't anything that i can see in add/remove programs. does anybody have an idea thanks

    well just got another computer in with this and this one says it is called "face itch" here is a pic of the toolbar if i remebered my html codes. I have ran ad-aware 6b181 with the latest updates. and i've looked for the other obivious stuff. thanks




    Edit: looks like i don't remeber my html code for posting a picture if someone could help me out that would be great. thanks again.

    Notorious,

    Have you tried using HijackThis to get rid of this annoyance?

    There are other threads on the Forums here that will explain about that proggie... it is very good for stopping crap like that loading up in IE.
    Best thing to do is post the HijackThis log here and we can tell you what to get rid of if you're not sure.

    Have you look in regedit or removed program. I had something load in my IE and it would try to load everytime I click to open IE...Took forever to open an IE
    just a little tip.

    you need to http the img link - dont work from ftp - best to link it as a url if it must be ftp.

    finally found an removed it using highjack this. it was from www.websearch.com thanks for all your help. the reason i used ftp was that was the only thing i had a avalable. was havin problems uploading to my website. thanks again
