Setting up a VPN
We are about to upgrade from Small Biz Server 2k > 2k3 and are going to try to setup a VPN, i have spent the last couple hours on the net trying to gather as much information as necessary but it left my rather confused. I see that alot of Firewalls offer VPN support/setup, yet SBS2k3 offers it as well, is either one of these a better way of going about setting up a secure VPN, i figure the firewall would be the most secure and easiest but i would like to hear others opinions, most of the guides i read on microsoft.com are extremely confusing
Thanks

Welcome to Windrivers Frizat
Yes you need to firewall a server
Yes you need a firewall capable of vpn if you want to firewall your server and use a vpn connection.
Yes SBS2k3 does have a vpn server facility.
What you maybe confused about is a vpn firewall/vpn appliance. A vpn appliance is the hardware version of the vpn software server on 2k3.
VPN is on as secure as you set it up. vpn uses ipsec
A more in depth explanation
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
