Biostar M7TDR P4...Socket 423
Have anyone had this Motherboard?
I can't get it to turn on...No light on keyboard or motherboard, no fan movement.
The motherboard is called Biostar M7TDR P4...Socket 423
I used one stick of 512 mb 100 mhz memory like the manual siad.It said 64 to 512 mb in each slot up to 1.5gb......
But when you turn it on nothing happing.
I used the same power supply I had my last P4 mother board in. it has all the power connection. ATX...The extra 12v connection and the extra 5V connection for CPU.
Nothing is happing. it doesn't even start.
I even took Cmos Bat. out for an hour to reset Cmos.
I have move Cmos jumper to pin 1-2.....and 2-3( Normal and clear)
it is suppose to be a band new board.
Any help would be great.
Thank Alvin

Hi ajm62
Well.........as the power supply is supposed to work the its looks like a hardware fault with the board or assosiated equipment.
You could try removing it from the case and with it sat on a non conductive surface [not the silver plastic bags as they are conductive] connect the power to the board with just the processor [heatsink+fan]and memory installed [plus the case speaker if it not mounted on the board itself] then temporarily short out the two pins for the front start up button.
Post back if the fans power up and any beep codes you get.
BTW Before you do that just check you are getting power into and out of the power supply with a volt meter if you have one.

Hi Mr. Archer. I have a power supply by it self and can hook it up with the motherboard laying on a cardboard box.
then put CPU and video and memory in. plus hook up speaker by it self on the board.
then turn it on...But how do you short out the two pins for the front startup button if I don't used my case.?
Alvin
Thank for all your help!!!!

A tap with screw driver tip will surfice across the two pins [get the right ones by reading the manual!] and the board should power up.
Looks like 14+16
