    unpartitioning

    my hard drive is partitioned into 2 partitions. Is it possible to put both of the partitions togiether to create one?

    I want to keep the files intact. the file system is NTFS

    You need a program like partition magic. I was not aware Symantec bought partitionmagic, but here is their link,

    Or you can go to Ebay, but make sure the seller has a rating of 99% and up and you will usually have no problems.

    is there a freeware program that does the same thing?

    ranish is freeware
    Backup anyway - every partition move or resize can end in disaster whichever software you choose.
    Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
