Diver01, if you truly believed you were happy on your own you wouldn't worry about that so much, would you.
The thing is, we are egocentric beings at heart. Even what we think we do for others can often be traced back to a sense of accomplishment, of self praise.
Love doesn't take or expect, it gives to the point of hurting the giver.
Especially when it comes to giving someone their liberty and the right to exercise their poor judgement.
That hurts the most.

Enjoy the responses....everyone has their own ideals and values when it comes to marriage and relationships. If your wife is OK watching... whatever, If you are a porn, star... whatever.
It doesn't matter to me. More power to you. I just have a different view.
We had an agreement when we started dating, because I feel very strongly about loalty and Fidelity. "If you're going to screw around, and get involved in another relationship, please have the respect and courtesy to divorce me first." That went for both of us.
I'm more hurt by the lying, sneaking around and involving my son.
I don't know reconcilliation is an option, as I don't see being able to forgive her, or trust her again.

sadly enough this seem to be required in a fidelity agreement aat the time of marriage these days for a man to be able to get a fair shake in court if it does happen.
Be extremely subtle, even to the point of formlessness. Be extremely mysterious, even to the point of soundlessness. Thereby you can be the director of the opponent's fate.

I was actually reading about this kind of stuff about a year ago. J's right here. For the most part, people get more pissed off about the lying than the actual sex. It goes to show that being able to trust the other person is ultimately more important in a relationship. Otherwise, why not just keep a list of friends you can call up and screw around with.

So what is the point of even trying then?
How many of those 50% of marriages split up because of cheating?

I don't know....
Something about completeing each other. Compassion, closeness, commitment, actually, when it's good, you would never have a better friend and partner.
