Ya_know, it doesn't make sense....tell me about it!!!! Yes, something is really wrong, that's why I posted here....... Whether I login as a domain admin or local admin I have the same issue. It seems that one or more domain policies modify settings on the workstation which stay there and after that, the problem happens with any account and even if I login to another NT domain. For example, I have a newly installed w2k pc that has not yet joined an NT domain. All is Ok. I join the pc on an NT domain which I know does not give me problems, I login and all is fine. I join the pc to my problematic domain and login and voila, my aforementioned issue is there. Now even if I login locally or back to the NT domain which does not give me problems, the issue stays there. Strange indeed! I think I have found part of the problem... I go in registry of my workstation and in the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Cur rentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders". I only have 4 entries:
Common AppData "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data",
Common Documents "%ALLUSERSPROFILES%\Documents",
Common Favorites "%ALLUSERSPROFILES%\Favorites",
Common Templates "%ALLUSERSPROFILES%\Templates".
The following entries are missing:History, Programs, Start Menu...etc... I just have to find what on the domain controller is screwing up the registry like this. Sorry for the length of this post but I'm trying to clarify as much as possible. Thanks!
