hi people i need to re format my computer and cant find the drivers for my mother board and not really sure of the motherboard model number from what i can tell it's a VIA VT8233 i have found some drivers on my comp wioth extension .sys can these be used or will i need to re download

I don't really know why you needed the drivers to your motherboard in order to reformat but here are the basic instructions. These willwork well if you have only one hard drive and that drive is named "C"

I'm assuming you're using Windows 98

IF you have two hard drives or if your hard drive has a partition in it or if you're not using Win98, write back and let us know,

hi i got a hell of alot of bugs on my system and i cant find anythin that can track them down and it's sending porn thourgh my computer and it's a family P.C. so i thought the only way to get rid of them was to re-format

For Porn it sounds like you need a trojan remover and a 'bug' remover:

For XP

Set the computer to boot from cdrom... press del at startup when it says "press del to enter setup" or similar. The motherboard manual will show you which options you need to make the cdrom the first boot device.

download the manual here

Pop in your xp cdrom. Save the setup and the machine will restart. Press any key to start booting from cdrom when the machine prompts you. XP will setup will start and you can format when it finishes loading the setup files.

http://www.viaarena.com/ has drivers for all the Via chipsets, as a last resort. And the 8233 is one of those with intagrated sound and networking.

I would deffinatly recomend trying other options first though, getting rid of the mal-ware, and getting drivers from the motherboard makers before trying drivers direct from Via. Ruslan's link has all the drivers direct from ECS if you find you have to reformat.

Just remember, the bugs got there some how. If you format and reinstall, make sure to get all the patches, an antivirus, and some spyware remover. Orange's link for adaware points to the wrong site (Sorry Orangeman) so try http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/ instead.
