Video driver set up trouble
Hi,
I've got the same problem than syco_killah so I dowload the latest driver.
But then came an other trouble: running the Set Up, I get the following Error message (it is a translation as my XP is in Spanish):
The set up program can't find an appropriate controller. The set up program will be interuppted.
Now I don't now what to do. If anyone can help ...

Welcome to Windrivers Tigron
It means that the driver set cannot find the card it is supposed to drive. There can be many reasons for this.
We need more details Tigron, windows version, service packs, motherboard and video card details please.

The one I downloaded and tryed to install is the following:
File name: 315_351a.zip
Version: v3.51a
Release date: 2003-09-18
Meanwhile I've downloaded the one you indicate. But opening it I can't see any Set Up icon.

no, you use the update driver option in device manager and point to the directory in which you unzipped the files.

Sorry, I'm not really used to those operations. When I go to the device manager window, I can't find any update driver option. I did a screenshot of what I get and save it in jpeg format but I don't know how to attach it. I tried it but got the error message:
The file that you have tried to attach is too big. The maximum size for this filetype is 1 bytes. Your file is 55737 bytes.
I'm stuck now. Help please

You cannot attach files, you need to link them from your own webspace.
To update a device from device manager...
Right click my computer, properties, 3rd Tab hardware, device manager button.
Now find the grouping under which the device is kept... monitors will be under monitors about 2/3rds the way down. Double click monitors. Choose the monitor (should only be one in most setups) by double clicking. On the new properties window that opens click the driver tab.... then click the update driver button.
When the wizard starts, choose the second option - Install from a list or a specific location. Click next - use the browse button to find the directory or folder in which you unzipped the driver files - the OK button will grey out if there is no driver inf file in the location you chose.
Click next, follow the wizard's instructions.

Thanks for you help NooNoo.
Following your instructions I find out that my PC is equipped of a graphic card SIS 650_651_M650_740. It was desabled. I enabled it and then I could play my DVD !!! ...But sounds and images do not come fluently. Then I tried to update the driver as you describe: the wizard started, I choose the second option - Install from a list or a specific location, then I clicked next and used the browse button to find the directory in which I downloaded the driver files. But then I can't see those files and the OK button is not active.
So my problem is not totally solved yet and I will still appreciate your help...
