    Is the Operating system 98/ME?

If so, in the control panel go to the network properties applet and remove the "client for MS Networks" option, or even simpler, leave that alone, and switch to "Windows logon" under Primary network logon (also in the network properties...)

    Welcome to Windrivers Larry

Don't remove client for ms networks... that is the thing that keeps your passwords for your dialup connection...BUT do change it to windows logon as described by Ya_know. Also start, find files and folders type in *.pwl and search all the c: drive. Delete any you find. Restart and the login should not return.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
