    Celeron 1.3Ghz in a 440BX Socket370?

I have a friend who has a Compaq Presario 5000. It has a 700Mhz celeron in it. He can't spring for a new board/CPU/Ram and wants to get the most out of what he has right now. I put an ATI 9200 PCI video card in it and was wondering if I could place a celeron 1.3Ghz in it. I have looked for what type of mobo is in it , but can't find any specs. Anyone know if it will take a 1.3ghz celeron? Thanks for any help.
Its all fun and games until someone loses an eye, then its just fun in the dark.

I have one those computers in my collection. I think you may be limited because of the boards chipset. According to "Aida" the CPU in mine will overclock to 1.1GHZ. However getting it there is a bit of a sticky issue in part because of the BIOS. Google search "Extreme overclocking" and there you should be able to find more info. Apparantly there is a guru there who can help with a "custom bios".

Need the exact presario 5000 model - there are a bunch of them. Also check the motherboard for a model number.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
