PC does not appear in Network Neighborhood
We have a Domin Based network with various Windows opperating systems, WIN98, NT4, 2000, XP. The server is running 2003 Server.
Looking at Network Neighbourhood (Win98) or My Network places (XP) one of the Win98 computers does not appear in the list. All Win98 PC appear tho thave the same network settings.
Any explainations would be appreciated.
Regards
Mike

make sure the 98 pc has netbios installed and activated, part of the domain and logs in. Make sure it's registered with the PDC, scan the 98 pc with port scanning software to make sure the netbios ports (139 i believe) are not being blocked. try turning on file and print sharing to make it annouce itself on the network.

I'm assuming that the IP adresses are different along with the computer names?
Otherwise identical is good!

You probably already checked this but in the Windows 98 Network properties make sure the workgroup is set to your netbios domain name for the rogue computer. Sometimes installing "file and print sharing" kicks it into gear.
To each his/her own.
