Hi. This is my first post here, but I've got a tricky problem installing XP Pro SP1 on a new system and need some help...

supermicro X6DA8-G2
3.2GHz 800fsb nocona xeons
2GB kingston DDR2-400 (1024 x 2)
3 seagate 15k U320 cheetahs
pny quadro fx 3400 PCi-E
(all other pci cards and non-vital peripherals have been removed)

At the beginning of the install, right after installing my 3rd party adaptec scsi drivers, the install status bar says "starting windows" and, boom, blue screen of death:

A problem has been detected blah blah blah...

STOP: 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0XF748E0BF, 0XF78DA208, 0XF78D9F08)

pci.sys - Address F748E0BF base at F7487000, Datestamp 3b7d855c

I have tried disabling everything possible in BIOS (I believe...) and have flashed the most current BIOS version as well. Everything in the system has been triple checked for proper placement.
At first I thought this might be a graphics card problem, but it seems to be working perfectly... I say that because after trying two separate genuine full version win xp pro disks, I tried installing an old copy win 2000 pro and everything worked flawlessly!! ...went through with win 2k and added all other hardware and updated drivers with no problems at all.

Anybody have an idea why XP pro is throwing this stop screen?
Could it still be bad hardware when, with Win 2k, the system works no problem?

Thanks!
