Has anyone got one of these mobos?
I got this mobo from a friend, and have hooked everything up with an old P120 and 16 MB of EDO ram to test it out, and all starts up OK.
But after the POST, it freezes on "Initialise plug and play cards.." and goes no further.
It has identified the correct hard disk, but cannot identify the CD ROM (an NEC unit), how do I deal with this? Is it a shortfall of this mobo?
Or is it a dying mobo?
Sounds like a dead cmos battery. Try disconnecting everything but the floppy and hard drive and leave the keyboard and monitor hooked up and try it then. If that doesn't do it take out the cmos battery and test it. It should be at least 3.2 volts or better. if not replace it.
