Different Speed of RAM in a Mobo?

    hi,

i just bought a memory in ebay. It wasn't described into details, but i got it in a rather cheap price. After it came it's a PC266.
    1. It is ok if i put it together with my PC333 or does it make my comp slower?
    2. How can i check if the memory is 100% ok?

    thx

    1. Unless the PC333 is overspec for your motherboard, then yes, the PC266 will slow your system. Your requirements all depend on the front side bus speed of your motherboard. Some boards also require memory to be installed in matched pairs.
    2. There are any number of memory diagnostics out there. http://www.memtest86.com/ and http://www.goldmemory.cz/ are two.
Probability factor of one to one...we have normality, I repeat we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.
