Sound Blaster 16 '92, No Sound
I recently had a parasite and my Win98 OS was infected. I had the system wiped clean and the OS reinstalled. There's a Sound Blaster 16 sound card installed, but no sound. I'm assuming, when they reformatted the hard drive, the software for the sound card was also removed. On top of that, I don't have the disk any longer to reinstall it. If I can't get the software, to reinstall, can I connect the speakers to the motherboard?

Welcome to windrivers johnny. Your sound card should be natively supported, so check device manager first to see if you have any yellow ? or !. If not, creative has a driver http://www.asia.creative.com/support...ame=Windows+98 but its not clear if you need the original installed first. Give it a try.
Unless your motherboard has built-in sound, you cannot connect the speakers to it.
Probability factor of one to one...we have normality, I repeat we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.
