    Multiple Wireless Access points

    Hey all,

Looking for advice about a wireless setup. I'd like to have 2-3 wireless routers with clients physically connected to them. I'd like information to hop wireless points to one wireless router - where then there is backbone access. Is this something possible to setup using multiple DLink DI-524s?

    Any advice would be great.

    Hi
You dont say what sort of distances you are trying to cover here,or indeed what the structure of the building is like, both are factors that will vary the amount of success you have .

The DWL900AP can be set up as a repeater on each configured node.
If necessary you can also add a aerial to the repeater. Am about to try this exercise with a 900 Hardware Revision C unit which is supposed to offer 4x speed following a firmware update.

The FAQs on the D-Link site explain the procedure for setting up the 900 as a repeater.

    Good Luck

Thanks for your reply. I failed to mention the distances, because they aren't of great concern. The building is one floor, Maybe 100 feet X 80 feet. I'm more interested in the access points all 'wirelessly' using one access point as the gateway - but I imagine that's all with the setup of the config.

I'll check-out the D-Link procedure for setting up the 900 as a repeater.

remember that wireless access points are basically hubs - therefore you will be sharing bandwidth.
Never, ever approach a computer saying or even thinking "I will just do this quickly."
