Integrated Audio Drivers
I have recently formatted a hard drive and installed windows XP home on an HP Pavillion 533A PC. It has an intel 845GL chipset and I need audio drivers for the integrated audio. The recovery cd doesn't seem to have the drivers for XP?
I have searched and searched the intel site, but I can't seem to come up with the correct drivers for this chipset.
Can anybody help?
(I also searched this forum and found what I thought were the correct drivers, but they wouldn't work!)

Probability factor of one to one...we have normality, I repeat we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.

This is HP's download page for the 533A. Although I didn't see any audio drivers.

HP does not post the original drivers on their site. Did you try the driver I posted on Sunday? Can't get around it being big.

Have you tried using HP's E-mail support. I was working on a firiend's HP and used E-Mail support. I was amazed how responsive and helpful they were.

If the sound is still not working, here is the HP support page for sound problems on you model.

Did you use the recovery disk that came with the computer or a different XP disk? From my experience working on a fiiend's HP, HP seems to have modified the OS with some proprietary setttings and any changes including deleting spyware like Wild Tangent screws everything up. My experience with this HP is that you have to set it up the same as it came from the factory or you'll have problems. What I've learned: Never buy an HP and never volunteer to work on an HP.
