strange start up program running

hi all, i am hoping someone can provide some advice for me.
i recently done a fresh instal of xp on my pc, i then updated using sp1 and then with sp2.
i then had a look at my start up processes running to see if i could get rid of some of those not necessary.
one entry showing is showing as iqxgrnir with command as c:\windows\system32\qvlazx.exe
i disabled this as i could find nothing anywhere on line telling me it was necessary, in fact i could find nothing in google or any other forum about qvlazx.exe.
anyway on restarting pc, this qvlazx.exe is enabled again, however the startup name changes for each new incarnation of it,
it has used qarxnrafjhe, and hynbqxphhv and others, but in each instance the command is shown as c:\windows\system32\qvlazx.exe
i have ran full virus scans and spyware scans searched extensively on line but can find no reference to this command.
does anyone have any knowledge of it, any suggestions gratefully received.
