    Unhappy Problem regarding Yamaha DS-XG sound card..infact no sound at all..!

    The problem faced by me is:-

    Got Yamaha DS -XG sound card..installed it on WINXP(sp2)...The device manager shows that the device is working properly with no conflicts at all...plus theres no ! or X mark on the sound,video controller options anyhwere...and in the control panel option for sound properties I can see my device installed it says "Yamaha DS1x Native audio".
    And whenever i boot up my pc and log on to windows xp..the windows start up sound come for a second or two and then suddenly it stops or halts!..plus when ever i try to play a video in Windows media player 9..the video just fast forwards..with no sound at all....!
    Please help...
    And theres another sound card too i have its ESS solo1E 1969...
    this one also has a problem . After installing ..device mamager shows the device is working properly..with no conflicts...but there is no sound from the players..i get sound of my hard disks patelletes spinnning ..plus my mouse moving and scrolling sound...with hissing noises...!
    Help with this one also needed..!
    About my system:--
    Two operating system :- Win98se and WinXp(sp2)
    mother board:- Tomato createbe-ATX(Zida technologies)
    Hard disk:- 17 GB
    RAM:- 320
    On board sound:- creative SB Live 128.
    Processor:- PIII, 550 MHz.
    AGP:- Geforce2 MX/MX 400(64 MB)
    PCI card installed:- 1) Pixel view TV tuner card
    2) ESS HI-56 Data fax modem.
    Waiting for responses.

    P.S:- which card do you guys recommend..after it starts to work properly..

    If I understand this correctly you have 2 sound cards?

    Well I don't have the two card installed at the same time....Actually I was trying to install one them. After finding out the details about each one...knowing which one is best. But to my luck these problems occured..!
