    kb/mouse/monitor switch

I need a switch that will switch my keyboard/mouse and monitor between two computers... any suggestions?

    I bought a Belkin 4-port KVM.

When I was looking for KVM's, I chose to go with a 4-way switch, this added expandability- from time to time I need more than just two cpu's online at at time. After 4+ years of use, one of the ports stopped working, and I am down to three.

Most units have a hot-key combination that will allow switching with a couple of keystrokes vs. buttons on the unit itself.

High-end units also switch audio and can handle the usb devices.

I love using those KVM switches for the simple fact that you can save up on monitors and input devices and invest into a better quality one which all the PCs can share. Takes up less space too.

Ideal for a little test lab.

You can still access the BIOS with them and there are even models now which work over IP.

Zonet has a nice 4 port one (ps/2 only) for about $41.00 with shipping at newegg.com

I have a couple and have been very happy with them-- they come WITH 4 SETS OF CABLES!

After I built a second computer for my roommate, I bought him one of those. He loves it!
