toshiba battery question
hi,
I have a toshiba 1105 ,I purchased it for parts/repair
the prior owner had spilt liquid into the keyboard which led to keys not working and also missing, I am replacing the kb, sound was an issue to ,but after cleaning corrosion off the sound chip and soder leads, it now works
only last issue is the battery, the power management shows battery @ 100% when using ac power, the battery led light is green when using ac power ,but when I try booting to just battery (no ac) the pc dont come on but a split second , green on,yellow battery lite then off ,, no post -is it common for os to report battery being good when in fact its not?
any way of testing this battery? it has 7 connecters that plug in mb, I could dish out money for new battery but what if its another issue?
also does anyone have a good source for reasonable priced batteries?
TIA

I had the same thing happen when the battery went on my Toshiba Tecra 8000. In fact, the symptoms were EXACTLY as you described. I got a battery pretty cheap, but don't remember where. I probably have the receipt at home. If I get a moment to actually go home today, I'll look. You can probably find it at a good price if you just check Pricewatch. That's the way I found the good deal.

We usually get batteries from www.laptopsforless.com and if you click that link the battery for yours is there I believe. Also is there anyway to clean the contacts on the battery or the connector side? sometimes an eraser will do wonders for a battery. Good Luck.

I'd be wondering the same thing. Especially considering that lappie took a beverage in the wrong place.
