P6BAT-A+ Will not Boot

I have a ECS P6BAT-A+ Motherboard that will not boot. When I turn it on a little red light on the top of the board comes on, and the fans run but nothing else works. Please Help Me.

Without more information I cannot be of much help but here goes.

Make sure the CMOS jumper is not set to Clear
Try using another powersupply
Grounded Point on main-board (Are stand-offs Properly installed in case)
No loose screws rattling around.
Make sure the reset switch is not stuck or installed on the wrong jumpers.

Determineif the bare board will post Proc,mem, fans, Powersupply only
If it does connect components one by one until it fails again

I have tried that, But it still does not do anything. I also doubt that it is grounding out.

When I got the board it was in a non working condition. I figured that because it is a strange board, ( It has a Slot 1, and Socket 370 setup built in) that it just needed configured. I hope this helps you a little.

I don't personally use ECS Mainboards because of the number of DOA's I recieved out of my first order. 4 out of 100.

Have you every used this board?
Do you recieve any post beeps?

What are the Specs of the system?

A little more info will help us determine your possibilities.

What type of processor are you using?

Slot 1 are bad about not being seated. No post usually means no Proc

No I have not used the board.

No Post Beeps either

PII 266 64 MB of PC 100 SDRAM and an 8MB AGP Graphics Card on a
ECS P6BAT-A+ Motherboard with a 230 W Deer ATX Power supply that I tested.

Taking above into account , next would be another Processor and memory ,
but it sounds like MB is dead , but if you don't mind spending time and can scare another Proc. and Mem. to see go ahead but I wouldn't spend any money to find out .

Deep PSU is not something I would trust... I have one original Deer PSU which is almost gone (burned spots inside), but still working... Ususally they are having problems in standby module...

Make sure you have installed memory into the first memory bank (ir you're using on-board video) - refer to the manual...
Also check out jumpers for changing CPU type (it is impossible to use Slot1 and Socket 370 CPUs at the same time). May be jumpers are not properly set...

I Do not have the manual, because the link on the ECS Website to the downloads is dead. If you have a idea of where the jumper is, that would help.

hi just a thought that mobo has a jumper to switch from slot 1 to socket 370 it is placed at the back of the slot 1 good luck

Just glancing thru the manual, I saw where it mentioned that the LED1 lit is a Suspension (Sleep) Indicator. Try briefly jumpering across pins 4 & 5 of the front panel header or pressing the suspend (sleep) switch if equipped, while powered up.

Also, check that the CPU fan is plugged into the correct header, the bios can 'sense' whether there's a fan or not, and not power up.
