Unhappy I got bad ram : can it be hidden ?

I got a problem on DDR RAM chip : One byte in 512MB DDR chip is read randomly bad . The bad byte is almost in the middle of the RAM , at the address 0F45450D .
I fix that in the file c:\bios.ini, I hide the top of the RAM with the /MAXMEM option but now I have only 240 MB of memory...

Can the bad byte be hidden with some software or driver , like in linux OS ?

Hello elo.trans.ts and welcome to WD forums

    BOOT.INI and not bios.ini .
IMHO you cannot exclude a portion of a RAM module from being use. The best you can do is to replace the chip. I hope you still have warranty.

BTW this post is most appropriate in the Tech-To-Tech Section

    All well,
