PC Beep Hell

The PC just starts beeping when I switch it on, and the monitor doesnt come out of standby, then it stops beeping, few seconds then it starts and never stops beeping. Tried removing RAM, VGA, Sound, NO LUCK, this happenned before, but after a few tried it fixed itself! I'm badly stuck now and need the PC. Help!

Give us the pattern of the beeps please techz, ami or award bios too ?, & have you tried clearing cmos, or the NVRAM (esc data) in bios ? all fans running etc ?

All Fans running, Award BIOS(the worst for telling what the beeps mean) the monitor doesnt come out of standby so I cant even get to the BIOS. I'll try to clear the CMOS.
The Beeps are like quick short beeps, almost 8-10 of them and then it stops and then starts again and never ends.

Gabriel, was that supposed to be a joke? Made me laugh.
Anyway, its fine now, this is getting a bit scary. Still for future reference, what could have been the problem? BTW I didnt Clear the CMOS, didnt have the 3 pin jumper to do it.

You can do a quick search for BIOS error codes on Google to get some idea.

Also, removing the battery from the motherboard for a few minutes can reset the factory defaults if you don't have a reset jumper.

Something like that happened to me before with a keyboard having a stuck key (KB buffer could not keep up), but the POST screen still came up though, I think.

Is is an MSI board? I had a friend who bought a new MSI motherboard a while back...thing worked great when I put it in, but a few days later he started having the exact same problems. After some digging on MSI's site, I found that the rapid short beeps meant video issues...put a new video card in and all is well. His old board was hit by lightening, and while it works it's glitchy every now and then...just some food for thought!

BTW, most boards have three pins to clear the jumper...a two pin jumper covers two (maybe left two, maybe right two) in normal mode, and then to clear you just move the jumper over to the other side to clear it...don't think I've ever needed a three pin jumper before. Also, worst case scenario you remove the battery like adept mentioned. I suggest removing the power cable first, then trying to power on the machine once or twice...sometimes some juice gets trapped in the system. Then remove battery/clear cmos and reassemble.
