Post Intel Ambient modem problem

Hi,
Ive just got hold of an athlon XP 1800, and im having problems getting online. The PC freezes everytime i try to log on. Im assuming its probably compatability problems with the modem, so ive been looking for driver on intel site( ambient are no longer running), but i cant find one to match the chipset number (MD1724T-11VC-B). Has anyone any idea where i might get one???? Cheers

Intel HaM V.90 drivers should work. MD5628D-LA or MD563X-HaM V.90 You have the Ambient Chip number it crosses over to the Intel Chip number http://developer.intel.com/design/modems/support/drivers.htm
