    Laughter saves the day....

So to cut a long story short, my flip phone which I'd had only since July fell out of my rucksack and got nailed by a passing car.

Almost at the stage of tears, I picked it up and tried to revive it, but with no joy. So I rang Orange to see about transferring the credit/details to another phone as the SIM card is ok.

After telling the lady what happens, this is how the conversation goes....

    Orange: What completely run over?
Me: Yep, won't switch on, battery cover cracked as well
Orange: Ok, this won't be covered under warranty
Me: (in a more humorous voice) What? Not covered under warranty? Surely its a manufacturers fault that the phone couldn't take a direct hit from a VW Golf?
Orange: Mmmm was it in your pocket at the time it gone run over
Me: now laughing hysterically - No. Would that have made a difference?
Orange: No, I was just interested.

Tell you what I'm laughing about the fact I have to buy a new phone, but proves that laughter cures all!

You're right. I just replayed that conversation in mind, with me playing your part. It's hilarious.

Is it covered on your house insurance?

My Nokia died about a year ago, actually caught fire in my Barbour jacket pocket - destroying itself and damaging the coat beyond repair, not to mention frightening the hell out of me!! (the pocket had filled up with rainwater whilst dog walking in a very heavy shower!!)

House insurance paid out no problem for both phone & coat. £420.00 in total.
