Comeback or Collapse?
With all of this talk about the ALCS, I have been wondering if this should be looked at as a great comeback by beantown, or if gotham had the biggest choke in history? If the roles were reversed, how would this series be looked at differently? Just want to see what everyone thinks.

It is the greatest comeback in baseball history, and it is also the greatest choke, losing an ALCS when one team is ahead three games to none.
Shamus is right. Both

It all depends upon where you are from, Boston or NY. But, if you are just a fan of baseball, as I am, then I call it the greatest comeback in the history of sports.
btw: I didn't see the Yanks "collapse", as it were. The sox took those last four games. The games weren't handed to them by shoddy play, errors, and/or pitching.

I vote both, but you know what killed the Yanks? It's what plagued them all season. Their starting pitching. The pundits have been hammering on it all year and it came to roost these last 4 games. You can expect to outscore opponents for only so long.

Stay on the bomb run, boys. I'm going to get them doors open if it hair lips everybody on Bear Creek.

I agree with TripleRLtd...I didn't see NY snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. They were out-played...

The fact that Gary Sheffield can't catch a routine fly ball also hurt them on two or three different occasions in the series that I noticed.
Definitely the best baseball comeback ever. After the beating that they called game 3, I doubt even the most loyal Red Sox fan honestly thought they had a chance to come back. That was painful to watch.

It was amazing to watch
It would be neat to have the Red Sox win the World Series. The games this past week were amazing to watch.
