    Sound driver help needed

I'm having problems locating the correct driver for my sound card. I'm sure I won't include all of the info you need, but I'll do my best. The motherboard is a 845 chipset socket 478 p4 Micro Atx motherboard Base system with Audio. I'm running Windows 2000. I think I need the Intel ADI 1885 integrated Audio (Soundmax 3) driver, but I'm not sure. If so, how do I install it?

Welcome to windrivers tla. We need to know the make/model of your motherboard, or the make/model of the computer. ADI does not provide generic drivers for its audio codecs, so one has to find the one specific to the motherboard. Even having the correct codec model is often not sufficient.

Intel does not provide AC97 drivers for its chipsets. They provide drivers for intel motherboards, however many different codecs can be paired with the same chipset, so the drivers provided by intel often do not work on boards from other manufacturers.
