I recently got an SanDisk Cruzer Micro 512Mb and plugged it in.
No autoinstall on either notebook or my PC (both with SP2).
I only got up the "install new hardware guide" with no success in finding the drivers. This is the same problem as many seem to have.
Some of my other hardware was found at every boot without finding the drivers for them as well.

The solution for me was:
First check the "show all files and directories" option in "This Computer".
Should be in "Tools/folder options". (I've got a Swedish Windows).

1.When the guide comes up (for any hardware that should be installed),
choose the "manual" option.

2a. In the next choose the "include" option and choose only the
one where you specify an directory. Choose the
c:\windows\inf\folder and click OK.

2b. Instead of 2a you can choose "I have a disk" option.
click on "I have a disk". Go to the "c:\windows\inf\ folder.
and click OK.

3. The driver should be found if it's supported by XP or if you've
installed it before installing SP2.

4. try this with the rest of your non working hardware and let
me know if it works.

comment:
The reason for this problem seems to be that XP doesn't search the
inf folder after installing SP2. Anyone got the solution/reason for this?

Good luck!
