My mom says when I was a baby, the rocking chair she kept in my bedroom would start rocking by itself. After moving out of that house, it never did that again. AC vents just happened to be in the right place at that house and nowhere else? I don't know, but boy did I ever get a chill up my neck while I typed that.

when i was young (yes i know by many of your standards i am still young, but i mean really young) it my grandparents house i used to think i could see the silhouette of a soldier in one of the rooms, and it was only ever visible by moonlight. i know it was probably just my mind playing tricks with me, but looking back on it, the silhouette largely resembled a ww1 ww2 soldire outfitting, and i was way to young to even know what ww1 or 2 was let alone wht the soldires looked like. And to add on the strangeness of it ... the house was built by my grandfather so it's not like it was lived in previously.

I've never seen a ghost, but when I was younger a few friends of mine, and myself, got together and did some kind of freaky seance kinda stuff.
A long story short:
Sitting around a candle, all of us looking lower than the candle, no windows open, no drafts, can is flickering like crazy. We decide to try an experiment. We all have a piece of paper and pen. We write down the first 10 words that pop into our head, in order we think of them. At the end, we take the first letter of all the words and write them down, in order, clockwise. We're expecting some kind of giberish. Not so. It actually spelled a sentence, question really. The question? "why call an Incubus". It turns out one of the female members of our little group had been wondering what it would be like to meet an Incubus. (she always was a bit on the odd side).
For those that don't know, according to mythology:
Incubus - male demon that appears to women as human male
Succubus - female demon that appears to men as human female
I, for one, strongly believe in the occult and the afterlife, and don't think it's something to be trifled with.

[GhostStory]
I went to a Catholic School which was a plantation-type mansion which had been converted into a school. (the dining room was our Spanish class, the upstairs bedrooms were admin offices etc.) This was in Frederick, MD just to give a context (and i know at least one person who lives in Frederick who posts here: St. Johns at Prospect Hall ). The mansion had 4 ghost stories that I remember about it (probably more but I only remember 4).
Anyway, one story goes like this: Plantation owner's son falls in love with servant girl (an African-American slave named Agnes); Father finds out, gets pissed, sends his son off to war; Father then has Agnes buried alive in one of the walls in the upstairs bedrooms. She haunts the mansion, mainly the upstairs and the attic to this day. She is supposedly a non-hostile ghost.
OK, so now, three of the seniors (myself, my best friend, and a mutual female friend) decide we are going to spend the night one night in the mansion. Since we are trustworthy (She was class prez) the admin approves and we start our stay by hanging out in the library. Eventually my friend and I decide to play with the old junked computers which are up in the attic. (Man I was a nerd back then too!) We go up there and turn on the light (one of those old push-button-spring-loaded light switches). We grab a computer, monitor, and a printer. My friend heads back down the super-creaky stairs and I'm poking around looking for a better keyboard and mouse when suddenly: the light turns off. Now, ok, the ONLY switch is about 6 yards from me and my friend was already clear of the creaky stairs and 1 floor down. I kind of freak but try to assure myself it's probably bad wiring or something. I go over to the lightswitch and get ready to turn it on but I look back into the room and I THINK I see a white figure. It is about human-sized, has no definite form, but kind of reminded me of a woman wearing a white dress. So i tell Agnes that I'm leaving the attic now and that I don't mean any harm, I check the switch and it is in the 'off' position and I leave.
I'm not 100% sure what the heck happened.
Realistic Theory: The switch is spring-loaded so it could have switched itself back off because it's old. Also the image i saw was right after i had been looking out the door (my only source of light) and so it could have been residual image from the light downstairs. (like when someone hits you with a flash from a camera and you keep seeing the flash for a few seconds).
Ghost Theory: Agnes told me to get the hell out of her attic and I took the hint.

Never seen one but was scared witless once.
About 2 years ago at my old firm I went in one Saturday morning on my own to work on web pages and stuff that you need no disturbances to do. The building is the type with few windows, so the lights are on all day, it's very dark without them even on a bright day. I finished at 1pm and packed up and went to the main entrance, which was at the other end of the building from my desk. You switch ALL of the office lights on from a panel at the main entrance which I did. I was about to leave and lock up when I remembered something I'd left on my desk. I walked back to my desk without turning the lights back on. Halfway there I stopped dead because there was something there. It was very dark where I was and without a doubt I knew something was there, you know that feeling when you know for sure that someone or something is in a room with you? I was **** scared, my neck hairs were definately standing to attention. Whatever it was scared me enough to run back to the main door and get the hell out without looking back. I mentioned it to other people who sometimes work late or on their own but nobody else had any experience like it.
Like FatalException wrote, I'm getting goosebumps thinking about it.
