opinion needed..
I'm slowly getting responses for interviews. Yea! However, I got a message on my cell regarding a job. I have called her back three times (she's never in her office it seems)! Should I keep calling or should I wait it out? What is the line between being diligent to being a pain in the butt?

Have you left a message each time you called? If you left her a message, I would wait a couple of days, then maybe try again.

Opinions needed? Well, you're in the right place. ;-)
Did you leave the message with her secretary? Voice mail? I would say that was enough. One more time Monday perhaps?

Once a day is what I would suggest...if after 3 days, and you know she's in the office (not on vacation), then stop calling for a few days...try again if you're desparate...

These are some great suggestions, however it could depend on the type of person Amyb is dealing with. This potential employer might respect the person who is motivated enough to call everyday. Maybe she's looking to see "who really wants it the most". And on the other hand, she might get annoyed by too many calls. Tough call. It's a gamble either way.
Something I've learned over the years is that too much of anything is bad and that everything in moderation is good. Good luck Amyb.

Are you dealing with HR or a recruiter? If so, stop calling. I've gotten blown off by so many of that type that I've stopped counting. Not returning your call is their way of letting you know they're not interested. Common courtesy has taken a walk.

Keep trying. You have nothing to lose but everything to gain. It shows you want the job if nothing else.

Hang on they rang amyb ? & now she can't get back in touch ?
Seems simple to me, you've tried to ring her back, left messages etc (as far as I can gather) but none of this seems to be reaching 'whoever' ? - then write/mail them nice & politely to ask just what is going on, noting your difficulties in reaching 'whoever' .. (if you get no response to this, then I'll agree with hudonsmith & say they are just rude !)
That way you are showing 'keen/diligent' without being a PITA ?

HR and it's her voice mail. Then why in the heck did she call in the first place?

Who knows, but its happened to me many times. You've got nothing to lose by calling back, except that feeling like you're banging your head against the wall.
