Root Certificate Update Needed in EXE form
I need to get the Root certificate update for Windows 98 from the Windows Update, Recommended Update section, but I need it in EXE form so I can mass deploy it instead of going to each machine and going to windows update. Ive tried the WinUpdate Corporate site but it is not there to download.

See if this link works:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...en/default.asp
When I pulled it up I could select Find Updates for Windows Operating Systems
98 was on the list and the one you're looking for was under Recommended Updates. You add stuff to a "basket" and then can choose a location to save the updates when you're ready.
For some reason this didn't work with my XP SP2 computer, but it did work on a 2000 box I have. DOH! Stupid SP2
Hope that helps

Thank you for your help. That is the corporate site I looked at earlier but your link was easier to use. I had to goto the advanced search and then it pulled it up.

THIS has always traditionally been known as the Corporate site.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows98/d.../corporate.asp
Please don't redefine the word is for us.
This is the Catalog site.
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.co...en/default.asp
Trouble with the Corporate site is that they never had all of the updates. Catalog site much better coverage but still lacking in full, stand alone
executables like DirectX 9.0b.
DVader - reason your XP box isn't redirecting to V5 site may be due to lack of working Java? The V4 site downloads redirect.js to shuttle the various machines to where they need to go, but being Java, you need Java working in order to be redirected properly. V4 is only for 98/ME these days. Perhaps SP2 wiped out your Java entirely?
