Lexmark Z33
Hi, I'm having a paperfeed problem with my lexmark Z33. I can't find any FREE place to look at manuals, maybe someone can answer a few simple questions for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The paper starts to feed into the printer, then stops. From what I have been able to find out it could be a problem with the 'compensation rollers' that take over after the first bit of feeding. My questions are:
1) Does it seem likely that the problem lies with the compensation rollers?
2) Is this something I can poke around with and see the problem, possibly fix it myself? (I am no computer repair person, but kinda mechanicaly inclined.)
Thanks for whatever help you may be able to give me.

Hi Tiedyedude, Welcome to WinDrivers!
While I don't have a direct answer to your question, you can find Publications for your Lexmark Z33 here. Your Setup Guide is available for download. It says that it is for "Setting up the printer, attaching cables, installing print cartridges, installing the driver software, and troubleshooting information"
It just might have some good info in there.
You might also try contacting their Tech Support.\
Good Luck!

That model should still be under warranty, no?
Just RMA it to Lexmark and they'll replace it.

Thanks guys, but no help so far. I've been thru and thru the lexmark
stuff and tech support on the site to no avail. I have had the printer
too long for any warranty repairs. If it comes down to it I'll just buy
another. Of course, I am trying tro be thrifty first!

Without breaking or forcing anything - see what covers you can open. You probably have a piece of paper in the paper path jammed ( a torn corner perhaps) - the rollers can be cleaned with alcohol ( not much - can dry out rubber) poke around and see if you find anything -

Got it!
Well, I found the problem and I feel like a bit of a dumb :butt:
It was a vey small problem after all, a pushpin had fallen from my bulliten board into the printer, somehow keeping the paper from feeding. Thanks for the suggestions and help.

Believe it or not, I've seen that same problem on a couple of service calls. The thumbtack falls off of the bulletin boards mounted above the work bench into the printer and/or plotter causing all kinds of problems. Technically, if this had been a service call out at a customer's site, this would have been billable as the service company is not responsible for abuse and neglect. This includes FOD (Foreign Object Debris) falling into the unit.
Anyway, glad to hear you got it going.
