    Nationwide (US) DSL service?

    Hi all:

Can anyone recommend a decent DSL provider that provides nationwide service?

I've been asked to look into this by someone who splits his time between the left coast, the rockies, and the deep south. They would like a single DSL account to cover all three residences. The person would be using a laptop and would like a modem at each house. Satellite has already been shot down and it is supposedly wretched for VPN access anyway.

If anyone has any recommendations on a provider to check out I would appreciate it.

    Thanks!

Covad and ATT are the only that I can think of...and I don't even know if they reach the whole US, but it's worth a shot!

As much as I hate them, what about Earthlink. It's a lousy service with lousy support but it's national.

Hmmm, I would think even if you find a provider that has service in all 3 markets, you would need separate accounts for each service. I'm taking it the local phone provider is not the same for any of the 3 locations?

    Speakeasy!!!

They are national, and have deals with all of the major ilec's (sbc, verizon, qwest, pacbell), as well as the Clecs (New edge networks, covad, qwest). The also offer dryline dsl with a max loop length of 15k feet.

Ohh yeah, and very liberal policies, like the ability to run a server on a residential line.

And, no, I do not work for them, but I am tired of ISP's charging tons of money, and then having the nerve to tell what you can and can do with your connection (like run a server)

[Edit] They also permit you to modify rDNS for all of your ip's tied to your service (up to 10 static on bridged connections, like dsl, and many more on t1's)[/Edit]
