Kingston USB - Win95 driver out there?
I have a Kingston Data Traveler KUSB/64 and would like to use it to get some files on to an old laptop that has Win95 installed and a working USB port. Kingston say they only support Win98+, but I was wondering if there is a Win95 driver out there at all? Somewhere?
Thanks if you can help.

Hi rmcollins55,
Welcome to WinDrivers!
Availability of Universal Serial Bus Support in Windows 95
First determine which version of Win95 you have. Lots of good info there.
You can find Kingston DataTraveler drivers here. As you can see, nothing is listed below Win98.
It's my guess (and this is strictly a guess) that this particular USB device simply won't work in Win95. Having said that tho, if you should get it working, please post your outcome here so that we might all learn from it.
Sorry I couldn't help out more...Good Luck!
EDIT: If you have the proper version of Win95 that supports USB, you might try the Win98 drivers just for grins. But no guarantees there. Again, Good Luck!

Thanks for the message - I have checked my version of Win95 and have found that it does NOT support USB. Therefore I believe you are right that I won't ever get the USB working on that version and should probably try installing a newer version of Windows. At least I know for sure now, so won't waste any more time - so thanks a lot! Richard.

Windows 95 usb support
Windows 95 OSR2 (original service replacement 2) had limited support for usb. OSR2 was a computer manufacturer item only, and was never offered on the retail market. I got it by buying a new custom computer in 1995, and the manufacturer included osr2. I no longer have it, as I believe, I gave it away with that same computer (a Pentium 120 with PC Chips board, 16 Meg of ram and a 40 Meg hard drive, wow!).
