driver issue for pcmcia to usb 2.0 adapter
I purchased a generic pcmcia to usb 2.0 adapter reciently and can't get it to work... It has the NEC chipset.
I have used drivers from the disc included.
The card is being used on a Dell Inspiron 2650 laptop.
It sees the card, but in the list of driver/support stuff in device manager, the line usb 2.0 root hub device is missing.
Everything else is listed: NEC PCI to USB enhanced host controller
NEC USB open host controller
NEC USB open host controller
USB root hub
USB root hub
I do have SP2 installed in windows XP, and have searched windows downloads extensively.
I know you probably will tell me to get a real adapter and ditch the the generic one, but I must try anyway for help.
Thanx for any help !!!
