Printer Certification
Is there such a thing as HP printer repair certification? If so, I'd like information as to how I'd go about earning it.

I take it no one out there has repaired printers professionally? I'm interested in home study and books on the subject due to the fact that I have had to do some extensive laserjet repairs as of late.

The only way to take a HP service exam is to first work for a authorized reseller of HP products.

Service Technicians supporting Printing and Imaging Products and pre-merger HP products under the Service Authorization Program are required to have a Technician ID number and complete the testing and training requirements. For a list of courses and tests (SPNs) please visit the Training section of Partner Portal and for information on the authorization programs, review the documentation in the Support section of the website.
Go here for more info on Training. Notice the link on the lower right to apply for a Technician ID.
Also, Course catalog - Printing And Imaging
Good Luck!

Thank you for the information. It looks like I am unable to sign up. I requires an Outlet ID and I don't think we have one. We are an goverment education institution a consumer and not a supplier.

If your institution's website ends in .edu there's a good chance your IS Dept already has one.
