READ: Microsoft's Tilt Wheel Tech Gaining Popularity

Microsoft has announced that its proprietary Tilt Wheel Technology is quickly becoming a standard on the desktop, and winning consumer acclaim for delivering more intuitive and efficient ways to scroll through spreadsheets and web pages.

Mohit Anand, manager, home and entertainment division, Microsoft, said, "The scroll wheel with the tilt feature is highly useful for navigating large documents. Many spreadsheets and other documents cannot be seen all at once on a computer display. The ability to tool around inside them at will, steering side to side as well as up and down, makes computing not only easier but more pleasurable as well."

Introduced last year, Microsoft's Tilt Wheel Technology is the first to enable a scroll wheel that tilts side to side. According to the company, the new technology actually boasted greater initial sales than its optical technology in the first six months of availability.
