Can't change my Current Homepage it is locked up

I can not change my current homepage when I go to internet options in control panel or when I go to internet explorer. I try to click on use current use blank and use default and it want let me. It is like it is locked up. I tried Aol 9.0 optimized auto fix. I tried different spyware like spybot adaware stinger and pcbugdoctor. I tried deleting internet explorer and reinstalling it by going to add/remove programs then remove window componets. None of these fixed my problem. I was told to get ride of the programs involves editing the windows registry and running the microsoft configuration utility. I don't know how to use the regedit.exe and do you know how and will that fix the problem i am having with changing my current homepage. It is stuck on
/isapi/redir.dll?prd=ie&pver=6&ar=msnhome thats what it says when i open up internet options

    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir...r=6&ar=msnhome

    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://www.microsoft.com/isapi/redir...r=6&ar=msnhome

find these keys in the reg and edit them to suit.

But I'd also try scanning for spyware again because its most likely the problem, could also try a regcleaner too.
I hope that someday we will be able to put away our fears and prejudices and just laugh at people.

    I've locked homepages in spybot.

Run spybot in advanced mode and look under tools.
You'll see browser pages icon on the left. You can change your home page in there.

I can't remember how you un-lock the home pages thouigh.
And Control Enter STILL wont let me post a reply.

    Found it.
    In spybot search and destroy.
Look at the 3 recommended options under immunise.

Middle one lock IE start page.
And Control Enter STILL wont let me post a reply.

In conjuction with Spybot I run AdAware from www.lavasoft.com
download that, update the definitions and run it. It seems to be a little better then Spybot at finding browser hijackers. Plus you won't have dink around with regedit after you run HiJackThis

Also check your add/remove programs list in the Windows Control Panel for spyware as well. Sometimes stuff like that gets installed "behind the scenes" and you'll only see it if you check that list.
