    Talking Problems with TS-H522b

I found this site by googling for solutions to the problems I've been having with my burner, and liked what I saw here...so here I am.

I used the search feature to look up similar problems and tried the suggestions that other people had for problems with this burner, but have had no luck in getting the burner to work.

I recently purchased samsung TS-H522b for a pretty good price (I'm starting to see why) and after installing it I found that it READS cd's and DVD's perfectly fine, but when I try burning DVD's problems start to arise.

I tried burning a DVD movie on 16X verbatim DV+R's at 8x and 16x speeds on nero, and an 'invalid block address' message comes up just before the writing fails.

At 4x with 4x verbatim DV+R's, the burner and software go unresponsive altogether and I forcefully have to restart.

I'm currently running the latest Firmware (TS05) on XP SP1

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Welcome to windrivers (_(V)_)ystik.
    - Try switching the cabling on the two optical drives so that the dvdrw is the master and the dvdrom is the slave
    - Try updating nero to the latest version.
    - Try a different brand of media.
Probability factor of one to one...we have normality, I repeat we have normality. Anything you still can't cope with is therefore your own problem.

Yeah I forgot to mention that I initially had the DVD-RW set as the master, and switched it over to the slave, but still to no avail.

I'll try a different brand of media...any brand recommendations?

I have no solution to your problems.
I just wanted you to know that I'm having similar problems.
    So it's not just you.

    WinXP Home SP2
    Nero 6.6.0.5
InstantDisc 8.0.1.48 <- this came with the DVDRW burner

This DVD Burner is a piece of ****in crap, doesn't recognize all the DVD-R and +R, and when recognize some of them, doesn't burn all the times 100% correctly, if you do a file verification, almost all the time are errors showing up....

I will never buy another Samsung crap, is a big piece of sh-t!!!!
    i'm very pissed off
