    error code appears on shutdown (windows ME)

    Hi ,I have windows ME and when I go to shutdown it appears with a error message (OE:0028:C0030D12)Then it tells me to press any key to enter,when I do the pc freezes an a black screen.
    Can you please help?Also on start up it goes into scandisk and it wont run all the way through,ive left it upto 3 hrs and its still an the scandisk.
    p.s im a new user to computors so dont fully understand whats going on

    Try disconnecting all USB device. Then restart the computer and see if the error continues.
