Sorry Techz, I've just got used to using Farenheit again after having Centigrade/Celsius shoved ino my brain by schoolteachers and Michael Fish
It is cold here, though not as cold as back home, which I confirmed today with Mrs Titchski, who is already there. I'm actually wearing long trousers to work today, first time this year

Upper 30's here, which is pretty much average around these parts. Very rare that the temps get down to the low double or single digits and I have never seen below zero temps here.

When I was living in Northern FL back in '89 we had a hard freeze. Went down to 5 degrees one night. The citrus crop took a HUGE loss that year. Your current Gov. seems to have learned from the lessons of the past and has a practice of closing the ag inspection stations when they know a freeze is coming so that can get at least some of the citrus crop out of state quickly.

It was my last stop, yes, and it made me wish I had joined the Navy instead.

you americans don't know wat cold is, that is of course except our fine friends in Alaska. But Alaska is more of a suburb of Canada than really a part of the United States

-17C here this AM (1F).
But it's a "dry" cold.
The sun is out and it is superb weather... for the office party starting in less than 2 hours.

It is now -7F here in Fairbanks, which is still quite pleasant for us.
Actually, it gets cold in Maine, and I remember back when my older brother used to be a cowboy in Montana, he reported that he would "ride fence" at -30F as a mean temperature, and he had no idea what the chill factor was.
The good news where I live is that a) Yes, it is a dry cold, and b) when it really gets cold here, there is no wind. But Fairbanks has the most extreme temperature range in the State. Coldest I have been in was -68F (I don't know if Celcius even has a figure for that cold) and at that point the Weather Channel just says:
"And in Fairbanks, Alaska it is just F'ing cold!"
