Talking How to harness hot spot signal

I just discovered that there is a hot spot near the front room of my house. How can I harness this signal so that I could use it on my PC in the rear of the house. The signal was discovered using a laptop with wireless ethernet. My other computers are networked using a wireless-g router.

wouldnt a wireless repeater do the trick?

or a wireless bridge in the front of your house and then wire that to the pc.

surely either of those would do the the trick?

I tried to move my house but couldn't find a truck big enough. I did the next best thing. I purchased a 15 dbi indoor directional antenna, and it's working great. Thanks to all of you that tried to help...

Rookie, you might want to find out whose WiFi signal that is and ask them to use it.

I was under the impression that any signal that is not encrypted is public domain. Can anyone help with this?

No, we live up on the side of a hill, so the signal could be coming from anyone below us...

If that's the case, then why the heck am I paying for DSL every month when there are at least 2-3 openly broadcast WiFi signals (strong signals too so they gotta be close) coming from all around me at my apartment complex? Hmmm.
